Video Chat!

MARGIE HANSON
TODAY'S  WAY

WEEKLY SPECIAL! Selling 101, 1/2 OFF Full Fee! First 2 who call!

Hello all ...

Have you heard about
ooVoo?
Have to admit I first saw the word in postings done by some teenagers on facebook. There it was ..."ooVoo me!"  Wasn't quite sure what to make of it so of course,  I googled it!  Lo and behold ...  found this great new alternative to Skype that we certainly all should know about!

ooVoo is a relatively new and free video chat!  All you need is broadband internet access and a computer with a webcam and microphone (a headset works great if you have one).

ooVoo lets you connect with anyone, at anytime, with video calls, video messages, phone calls, text and more. Use ooVoo for remote conversations and meetings and pretty much for any type of communications ... interactive OR one-way!

Note: My weekly special is pretty cool this week and will include how your unique communication needs could best utilize video

Here are some of the things you can do:

Video Calling - See, hear  and speak up to 6 people

Web Video Call -  Friends without ooVoo can video call you from a web browser.

Video Chat Room - Embed a video chat in any website, blog, or social network.
High Resolution Video - Make video calls in amazing clarity.
Full Screen Mode - Enjoy a more focused, engaged meeting experience.
Video Call Recording - Save your video chats as AVI, FLV or HTML embedded video. Get up to 1,000 total minutes of video storage and streaming on ooVoo servers - share your recorded video chats with anyone, anywhere.
Video Messages - Send a video greeting to multiple people at once. to your email account - except instead of typing a message, you record a video of yourself. You can send Video messages to people who are on ooVoo, and those who haven't yet joined.

 and a few more .....
Desktop Sharing -  share your full desktop while you talk or present. Screen share a graph, image, or presentation and get everyone on the same page.
Phone Calls - Phone a mobile or landline.
Manage your Phone Book -  Save phone numbers in your ooVoo 'Contacts'.
Add Phone to Video Call - Add up to six phones to video calls
Text Chat -  Text with up to 6 friends at once.
Send Large Files - Send files up to 25 MB each.
Sidebar View - Change the size of a video call window.
Set Privacy Controls - Control who can see or contact you.
Call Me Button - You can add a Call Me Button to your email signature, blog or social network page. Anyone can click the link to start a free web chat with you regardless if they are a registered ooVoo user - all they need is a web cam and an internet connection.

Thinking it's just like Skype?  Close,  but there are some differences. Here are some of the ones found so far!  Pricing has some comparable items also.
1. First .. know that "both" are compatible with Windows and MAC.
2. ooVoo allows for your friends who have NOT downloaded ooVoo, to still be able to talk with you from their web browser via the Web Video Calling feature. Great for those who may be on the move, at a public place, friend's computer, etc., who can't download the program, or don't want to for whatever reason.
3. ooVoo  allows you to embed video onto your blog, website or social networking site via the web video chat feature.
4. Skype allows more mobile usage. It works on a wide range of mobile phones, plus it can be used on devices like the PlayStation® Portable (PSP®). There are also  WiFi and cordless phones with Skype built-in, ready to go I am told.
5. Skype allows you to import contacts using Microsoft Outlook®, Outlook Express® or Yahoo!
6.
Calling Ability Comparison
With ooVoo, whether you choose the standard or the super option, you can add phone for $5 extra a month. For that extra $5 on the ooVoo standard plan, you can add 500 minutes of phone calls to the U.S. or Canada only. For the ooVoo super plan, they offer "unlimited" but in fine print below, they say "unlimited is 3000 minutes", and again, for the U.S. or Canada.
With Skype, you can call anywhere in the world and pay two ways - with pay as you go or by paying monthly, offering three calling plans to allow you to call a specific region, or everywhere.
7.
Conference Calling Comparison
With ooVoo, you can call up to three people with the free version, or six people with their ooVoo SUPER option to conference.
With Skype, you can contact up to 24, via both Skype and landline, to conference
